JCMI wishes to remind all monument makers that it is mandatory to comply with our By-Laws and Rules and Regulations with respect to Monument Installation.
These regulations will be strictly enforced in all JCMI cemeteries.
By Laws:
1.1 All MONUMENTS and MARKERS should comply with these maximum specifications:

Single Stone Base | 36" (91.44 cm) | 14" (35.56 cm) | 6" (15.24 cm) |
Double Stone Die | 60" (152.4 cm) | 10" (25.40 cm) | 30" (76.20 cm) |

These dimensions meet the current standards of all Cemetery Associations. The overall
height of a MARKER from the top of its foundation is not to exceed 36” (91.44cm), plus
the normal thickness of the mortar or other adhesive material between MARKER and its
base. All MARKERS and their bases shall be made of granite and shall be properly
attached to each other. Minimum sizes as per the “Act”.
1.2 Prior to installation of a MARKER, written permission, (a permit), shall be obtained from
JCMI. Marker Care and Maintenance Fund fees must be paid before a permit is issued.
[The Permit should also include the date of unveiling to insure that the foundation is set
well before the delivery date.]
1.3 JCMI will refuse to permit installation of any MARKER; and may order the removal of
any installed Marker that contains any engraved image, portrait, attached picture,
carving, vase or container of any description. Markers shall be inscribed with the name
of the deceased and date of death in English and Hebrew; plus, another language if
desired. All markers must be inspected before installation by the Cemetery Manager.
1.4 JCMI will refuse to allow any monument maker to install any MARKER on JCMI
CEMETERIES unless they have commercial general insurance including products for
completed operations, independent contractor coverage and non-owned automobile of
not less than $2,000,000 and coverage under the Workers Safely and Insurance Board.
JCMI may further refuse to allow any monument maker to install any MARKER on JCMI
CEMETERIES, if they have previously violated these RULES, and have refused or
neglected to remedy such violation.
